Self-awareness begins anywhere
Self-awareness. I decided 2017 was going to be the year I crossed everything off my list. All the things I have thought about doing, journaled, and spent a lot of time over a cup of coffee thinking about. This may sound self-indulgent, but I am tired of resisting what I don’t know. All week I have been resisting the need to learn the mechanics of how to blog. Now here I am, time to celebrate:
- success
- positive self-esteem
- courage.
Know that if you are seeking change, self-awareness starts with intention; ideas rest in the gaps between thoughts. By slowing down your thought process just a moment, by observing the world outside yourself, you will notice an empty space, a quiet mind; this is the space where ideas, creativity, and dreams exist. Giving yourself time to notice these moments daily widens this space; it quietens the internal noise which allows larger ideas and problem solving to open up. These moments are always there, but its only with intention, choosing to change and opening up to the unknown, that you can identify your true desires.
It’s no good walking around thinking you are tired of being this way; pause, open your thoughts, and notice your choices. Success and self-esteem exist here, so don’t wait for the big stuff, celebrate every small change you make daily towards your goal. Positive self-esteem exists in intentions; giving your mind a positive direction takes you out of the lows. You have the power to overcome obstacles. Courage is in us all; courage is stopping the anxious mind and paying attention to where you are right now. Courage is life lived with intention.
Know that change, success, positive self-esteem and courage can start in this moment.
“Our intention is to affirm this life, not to bring order out of chaos, nor to suggest improvements in creation, but simply to wake up to the very life we’re living, which is so excellent once one gets one’s mind and desires out of its way and lets it act of it’s own accord.” ― John Cage 1912 – 1992
